Redeemed To Be Made Beautiful

Redeemed To Be Made Beautiful

“I’m okay, you’re okay, we’re all okay”….Uh, no.

We’re not like used cars-gently used and slightly dinged. In fact, we are broken and totaled, left out and written off, dented and damaged. In fact, we were headed to the scrap yard until……He bought us! Redeemed to reclaim. Redeemed in spite of our brokenness. Redeemed to be made beautiful.

In our world, broken things aren’t redeemed- they are thrown away. Broken furniture? Thrown away. Broken glassware? Thrown away. However, in His world, broken people are redeemed. Why? Because God knows value. After all, the One who made us knows how to remake us. Broken people reveal His power, His glory, His beauty. Our broken pieces are mere openings for grace to fill.

Jeremiah saw a potter holding a misshaped piece- flawed and useless. Rather than tossing it aside, the prophet saw the potter push the clay back together and mold it again, “as seemed best to him.” What??? God doesn’t toss the flawed (you-me); He uses the same clay and cracks and makes all things new. There’s no jink heap. There’s only the Potter who reforms, reshapes, and redeems.

Don’t doubt this Potter. God can take your broken pieces and make something incredibly beautiful. “In His time, in His time. He makes all things beautiful in His time…”

That’s you. And me. And …..Him.
